Faster access to medicines for Rare Disease patients. “The Transparency Directive”

In line with the 2013 Rare Disease Day campaign “Rare Disorders without Borders”, EURORDIS and Member of European Parliament Ms Antonyia Parvanova (Bulgaria) will invite a multi-stakeholder audience to examine how different policy measures can help improve access to therapies for rare diseases. The need for transparency around pricing and reimbursement of medicinal products in order to allow faster, more equitable access to medicines for patients will be discussed in the context of the EU Transparency Directive on medicinal products, ahead of the vote in plenary session of the Parliament, scheduled in May 2013.
