The AIRFA is a non-profit organization founded with the aim of promoting research on Fanconi anemia. The disease typically occurs in children at school age who have inherited from both parents the genes responsible for this type of anemia. The disease has a progressive course with usually fatal results. The only available treatment is bone marrow transplantation. The AIRFA raises funds in Italy for research against Fanconi anemia. Its objectives are chased with the support of institutions, companies and private benefactors.
