I have a place as a general hematologist in the Hospital of Tortosa. This city is placed near the Ebro delta, which is an area with a high prevalence of beta-thalassemia. I amb specially interested in the diagnosis and treatment of red cell disorders. My PhD was about the field of hemoglobinopathies in my area. I have contributed to the identification of a new Hb F variant (HbF Catalonia) and I have found a high prevalence of a nonsense 37 mutation as a cause of beta thalassemia in the Ebro delta.
