Dr. Angastiniotis is a paediatrician with a special interset in thalassaemia, both in treatment and prevention. Member of the Board of Directors and a close collaborator with the thalassaemia lab at the Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics. He has been responsible for the thalassaemia control programme of Cyprus for many years. He is also a special interest in other chronic and rare diseases of childhood including cerebral palsy and immune deficiencies and a consultant for WHO for many years.

Now he is medical advisor to the Thalassaemia International Fedreation.
