2016 Rare Disease Day video out now! Do not forget: 29th February... Rare Disease Day!

With the theme “Patient Voice” and the slogan “Join us in making the voice of rare diseases heard” hundreds of events will be held around the world

February 2, 2016

As every last day of February, Rare Disease Day will be held all over the world. Since first launched by EURORDIS and its Council of National Alliances in 2008, hundreds of events have taken place with the aim of increasing awareness on rare diseases. The upcoming 29th February, people living with or affected by a rare disease, patient organisations, politicians, carers, medical professionals, researchers and industry will come together one more time in solidarity to make known the impact of rare diseases.

In its ninth edition, the Rare Disease Day will be held around the theme “Patient Voice” and the slogan “Join us in making the voice of rare diseases heard” recognizing the essential role that patients play in voicing their needs and inviting to join rare disease community to all those that are not directly affected by a rare disease avoiding the isolation of patients and families.

The patients voice is stronger when patients receive training, is vital because rare disease patients are experts in their disease and is increasingly present and respected in the medicines regulatory process, during which patients bring real-life perspective to the discussion.

Join the Rare Disease Day 2016 and amplify the voice of rare disease patients. Make it heard all over the world!
