Thalassaemia International Federation granted with Dr. Lee Jong-wook Memorial Prize in the 68th World Health Assembly

TIF’s Board of Directors have expressed their most sincere appreciation to those who have shown confidence and have recognised its impact and value through the receipt of this prestigious award.

ENERCA is proud to announce that our partner Thalassaemia International Federation (TIF), has been granted with the prestigious Dr. Lee Jong-wook Memorial Prize in the 68th World Health Assembly (68th WHA), held on 21 May 2015 in Geneva.

This prize rewards TIF's outstanding worldwide contribution to public health, ensuring equal access to quality health care for every patient with thalassaemia and other haemoglobin disorders across the world since its establishment in 1987. The official relations established with WHO since 1996 have lead to promote many of its disease specific and public health programmes, being considered as an important pillar for the development of the activities in this field.

The prize was received by Dr Androulla Eleftheriou, TIF Executive Director. Mr. Panos Englezos, TIF President and Mr. George Konstantinou, Assistant Secretary of the TIF Board of Directors were also present in the ceremony.

TIF’s Board of Directors and the global haemoglobinopathy family have expressed their most sincere appreciation to those who have shown confidence and have recognised its impact and value through the receipt of this prestigious award.
