Congenital erythropoietic porphyria

Congenital eryhtropoietic porphyria (CEP) is a disorder characterized by the excessive production of porphyrins or their precursors in erythroblasts and liver. The disease arises from abnormalities in the regulation of the porphyrin-heme pathway. CEP is characterized by chronic anaemia and hepatic dysfunction.
