Subject: Dyskeratosis Congenita and Nutritional Supplements
Message:

I have now heard that aging itself is being studied through the lens of dyskeratosis congenita. The disease accelerates certain aspects of normal aging. As in my previous post I mentioned the personal benefits of exercise. I must put in perspective that the supplements I take daily to offset the progression of the disease is another key to living successfully with the disease. The following supplements are taken daily along with exercising daily. The first supplement is a multivitamin with over 50 different nutrients. Most of the nutrients are routine but there are some ingredients that may be highly beneficial in slowing the disease. They are as follows: N-Acetyl-L cysteine, Taurine, Inositol, Bromelain, TMG, Bilberry extract, Citrus bioflavanoids, Ginger root, Milk thistle, Boron, green tea extract, olive juice extract, raspberry leaf, Lutein, biovin full spectrum grape extract. The most important nutrients in my opinion are the following from a formula called the Mitochondrial Energy Optimizer with SODzyme, acetly-l-carnithine hydrocloride, acetyl-l-carnithine arginate, carnosine, and R-lipoic acid. I also take wild fish oil concentrate and emergen-C vitamin c and b supplement. In the morning before exercising I take KYO-Green, which contains young barley grass, young wheat grass, brown rice, chlorella, Kelp and FOS. My nails and skin are improved greatly by taking Siberian Ginseng. Eight weeks with this herb followed by a two week break and then resume again for 8 weeks followed by a two week break continuing the pattern. I am not trying to endorse any brand of supplement just the ingredients within the supplements.

I am sure there will be doctors and scientists that dismiss my excellent results with this disease by my supplementation and exercise but I am trying to speak out to all with this disease that there is so little research on how to live with, much less slow its devastating long term effects. I wish others with this disease or doctors who want to learn more to please reply to one of my posts. The wise researcher may realize that my regimen may not only slow down DKC but cetain aspects of aging itself.
